Dr.Jothydev Kesavadev was awarded the “Icon of the Year Award for Medical Innovations” for his successful journey in implementing novel technologies in diabetes treatment. During the Covid pandemic, Jothydev with his team introduced a new model described as Virtual Covid In-Patient (VCIP) care, a novel concept of providing “in-patient” level of care at home during the pandemic to prevent overwhelming of hospitals. The model exhibited a 99.5% success rate in treating patients, bringing down the cost of treating Covid-19. He is in the forefront in educating the public on the importance of diabetes prevention, comprehensive treatment of diabetes, its complications, newer technologies in the treatment of diabetes etc. The award was instituted by 24 News.
