Type 1 Diabetes Awareness Programme

Jothydev’s Diabetes Research Centre and Kesavadev Trust in association with the Type 1 Diabetes Welfare Society organized a Type 1 Diabetes awareness program on April 26th, 2023, at IMA Hall, Cochin. The event was inaugurated by Adv. M Anil Kumar (Mayor, Kochi Municipal Corporation) and featured an impressive lineup of speakers, including Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev (Managing Trustee, P Kesavadev Trust, Chairman & Managing Director, JDC), Dr. Anitha Nambiar (Treasurer, RSSDI, Kerala Chapter), Ms. Gopika Krishnan (Secretary, KT1DP, Sweet Stars, Director of Research and Academics, JDC), Mr. Abdul Jaleel (State Secretary, Kerala Type 1 Diabetes Welfare Society), Mr. Vijesh T R (State President, Kerala Type 1 Diabetes Welfare Society), Dr. Asha Ashik (Centre Head and Chief Consultant Diabetologist, JDC Kochi), and Ms. Geethu Sanal (Chief Dietitian, JDC Trivandrum).

The program focused on educating patients and parents about Type 1 Diabetes and its management. The event included cultural programs by children and interactive sessions with diabetes specialists and dietitians. The program was highly successful in raising awareness about Type 1 Diabetes and providing valuable information and support to the community.

Free Diabetes Screening and Patient Education Camp

Kesavadev Trust and Kuriathy Residents Welfare Association (KRWA) organized a free diabetes screening and patient education camp. The camp, held in collaboration with Jothydev's Diabetes and Research Center (JDC), was attended by a team of experts, including Dr.Jothydev Kesavadev, (Chairman and Managing Director, JDC) Dr.Arun Shankar (Medical Director, JDC), Dr.S Umadevi (RSSDI fellow, JDC), Ms.Gopika Krishnan (Director, Academics & Research), Ms.Geethu Sanal (Chief Dietitian), and Ms.Jayasree Lally (Manager, DTMS). Participants received a comprehensive diabetes education class, and KRWA representatives Mr. M Radhakrishnan Nair (President KRWA), Mr. R Sasi Sekhar (Secretary, KRWA), and Mr. M Madhusoodhanan Nair (Convener, KRWA), spoke at the event. The camp provided valuable information and support to the community and was hailed as a great success. Mr. R Sasi Sekhar coordinated the camp with Jayasree Lally.

‘Ask the Experts’ session by Dr.Jothydev Kesavadev

An interactive webinar on 22 April 2023 featured a panel of experts including Dr.Anil Bhansali, Dr.Jothydev Kesavadev, and Dr.Sanjeev Phatak to address practical queries related to the usage of co-formulations. The webinar provided an excellent opportunity for healthcare professionals and patients to gain insights into the practical aspects of using co-formulations.

DiabetesIndia Fellowship for Dr.Arun Shankar

Dr.Arun Shankar, medical director of Jothydev’s Diabetes Research Centers, Kerala, was honoured with the esteemed DiabetesIndia Fellowship at the World Congress of DiabetesIndia, Indore. The award was presented in the presence of prominent dignitaries including Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, Dr. Banshi Saboo, Dr. Shashank R Joshi, Dr. Manoj Chawla, and other esteemed faculty members.

DiabetesIndia World Congress 2023

The Diabetes India World Congress 2023 took place in Indore from April 14th to 16th, 2023. The event featured several esteemed speakers, including Dr. Arun Shankar, who delivered a talk on 'Pre-Conception Reversal of Diabetes', and Dr. Jothydev, who presented on 'Hybrid Closed Loop Systems: The 780G Revolution' on April 14th. On April 15th, Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev discussed 'Interchangeable Insulin-Changing Landscape in Diabetes Management' and 'My Clinical Experience With Finer Enone: Whom to Treat, When and How?' Another highlight of the conference was an original research poster from JDC titled 'Utilization and Influencing Factors of Complementary and Alternative Medicine in People with Type 2 Diabetes: A Cross-Sectional Study'.

2nd RSSDI Research Retreat 2023

2nd RSSDI research retreat was conducted at Hyderabad from 8-9 April 2023. Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev presented his talk on ‘Correlation between HbA1c and TIR in the Indian population and its association with treatment-related variables'. The presentation was highly anticipated and provided valuable insights into the association between HbA1c and TIR among the Indian population. Ms.Anjana Basanth presented original research from JDC titled ‘Assessing the vascular complications in people with diabetes adhering to telemedicine over 15 years along with the face-to-face visit’ at the conference.

4th Indian School of Hypertension Convention 2023

Dr.Jothydev Kesavadev spoke on treating high blood pressure and efficient management of hypertension among people with diabetes at the 4th Indian School of Hypertension convention on 8 April 2023 at New Delhi.
