Diabscreen Kerala Free diabetes awareness, education and detection camp was organised by P.Kesavadev Trust and NSS Karayogam at Kunnathur on 9th August 2014. The camp was organised to commemorate the death anniversary of Shri. K.P.P. Unnithan at the NSS Hall, Kunnathur. The organizer of the camp was Dr. P.G. Balagopal, son of late Shri. K.P.P. Unnithan. The camp was inaugurated by Dr.Jothydev Kesavadev. Mr. K.K. Sivasankara Pillai(President, NSS, Kunnathur), R. Unnikrishna Pillai(Ex.MLA), Smt. Thankachi Sadanandan(Kunnathur President, Grama Panchayat) were part of the inauguration. Mr. B.Sajeev Kumar(Vice President, Kunnathur Grama Panchayat), B. Harikumar(member, Union Committee), C.Sivashankara Pillai (Secretary, NSS), E.K.Prakash(Vice President, NSS) etc. gave felicitations. Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr.P.G. Balagopal. The camp included free medications, blood tests, anthropometric measurements and free consultation. The educative lecture by Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev was followed by diet talk by Greeshma Mohan. Gopika Krishnan briefed on injection techniques.The multidisciplinary team from JDC was part of the camp. The camp was coordinated by Prasad. Sunitha Jothydev supervised the activities of the camp. Mrs.Thankachy Unnithan,Indu Balagopal,wife of Dr.Balagopal and other family members were present.
