World Diabetes Month-Patient Education Program at JDC Attingal
In celebration of World Diabetes Month, a patient education program was conducted at JDC Attingal on November 11th, 2023. The event featured an introduction by Dr. Ashwin David Ashok, the Center Head of JDC Attingal. Keynote speakers included Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev, Chairman & Managing Director of JDC, Ms. Gopika Krishnan, Director of Academics and Research, and Ms. Fahma Mansoor, a Research Dietitian at JDC. The program, attended by nearly 120 participants, concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Ashwin David Ashok.
WDD Patient Education Program at JDC Trivandrum
On World Diabetes Day, JDC Trivandrum hosted a patient education program. Ms. Sunitha Jothydev opened the event with a welcome address. The program featured several expert speakers: Dr. Arun Shankar, Medical Director at JDC, discussed ‘Are Diabetes Medications Safe? When to Consult a Doctor’, while Ms. Geethu Sanal, Chief Dietitian at JDC, addressed ‘What Fruits and Sweets Can Diabetes Patients Eat?’. Mrs. Gopika Krishnan, Director of Academics at JDC, spoke about ‘JDC- The Only IDF Accredited Centre in Kerala’. Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev, Chairman & MD of JDC, presented on ‘10 Ways to Protect Heart, Stomach, Eyes, and Nervous System from Diabetes’
WDD Free Diabetes Screening Camp at JDC Haripad
In celebration of World Diabetes Day, a free diabetes screening camp was conducted at JDC Haripad, guided by Dr. Yaseen Unes.
DREAMS Practicals, Kottayam
DREAMS Practical Session 3, a key component of the DREAMS project, was successfully held at Government L P School, Mudiyoorkkara, Kottayam on November 18, 2023. This initiative, overseen by the Kesavadev Trust, was inaugurated by Shri. P U Thomas, a member of the Kottayam Navajeevan Trust. The event featured special guests including Shri. Sabu Mathew (Municipal Counselor), Shri. Dayal Sivaswami (Mathrubhumi News Reporter, Kottayam), and Smt. Sindhu Shibu from Government L P School, Mudiyoorkkara. The program was attended by 32 children with type 1 diabetes and their parents. Participants engaged in a variety of interactive activities, including workshops, hands-on activities, and educational sessions. The demonstration sessions, along with comprehensive classes on diet and exercise, were particularly well-received. The DREAMS team for this session included Ms.Gopika Krishnan, Ms.Geethu Sanal, Dr. Junaid Naina, Ms.Anjana Basanth, Ms.Gopika Beena Chandran, Mr.Vysakh Chandran, and Ms.Fahma Mansoor.
