Diabscreen Camp: Peroorkkada, Thiruvananthapuram

Diabscreen Kerala, Kesavadev Trust, free diabetes awareness, education and screening camp was organized by P.Kesavadev Trust in conjunction with Winner's Library Peroorkkada on May 20, 2012. More than 80 participants attended the camp and underwent physical evaluations and laboratory investigations. More than 50% of the participants had uncontrolled diabetes and hypertension. Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev spread awareness on the need for self monitoring of blood glucose and the importance of avoiding hypoglycemia. A demonstration of insulin injection techniques and glucometer were carried out and common errors were rectified by Gopika Krishnan.

Free medical advice and medications were provided to the patients by Dr.Jothydev. Mr. Vishnu Prasad organised the camp. Camp was coordinated by Mr.Vinu Krishnan and Jayasree Lally..........
