March 8, 2022: Debate 2022
Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev was an invited speaker at 'Debate 2022', organized by Dr. Aravind Sosale, Dr. Krishna G Seshadri, Dr. Sanjay Reddy and Dr. Bhavana Sosale on March 8, 2022. Dr. Jothydev lectured on the topic 'Early intensive control and microvascular complications'. The event was conducted as hybrid event, including both face to face and virtual for 5 days, from March 7-11, at Chennai.
March 4-6, 2022: Chellaram International Diabetes Update
Dr.Jothydev Kesavadev was an invited speaker at the Chellaram International Diabetes Update, held virtually on March 4,5 and 6, 2022. Dr. Jothydev spoke on 'Insulin pump therapy in type 1 diabetes' on March 4, 'Next Generation Pump Technology' on March 5 and 'Time in Range, A1C and role of CGM' on March 6. The session on 4th March 'Insulin therapy' was chaired by Dr. Amit Deshmukh and Dr. Rahul Jahagirdar. Dr. Shehla Shaikh and Dr. Ganesh Jevalikar were the co-speakers of the session. The session 'Technology in diabetes' held on 5th March was chaired by Dr. Shripad Bhat and Dr. Sudhir Mundle. The session on 6th March on 'Digital diabetes care in the CGM era' was chaired by Dr. Vasudha Sardesai. This was followed by a panel discussion. Dr. Banshi Saboo and Dr. K.M Prasanna Kumar were the other panelists of the discussion.
February 21, 2022: KSB (SZ) CME
Indian Medical Association organized a KSB (SZ) CME in association with the AMS Kerala and IMA Nemom on 21 February 2022. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Samuel Koshy, IMA State President. Dr. A. Marthanda Pillai, former national president and national action committee chairman was the chief guest of the event. Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev spoke on “Oral semaglutide:the novel game-changer in diabetes management”. Dr. Mohanan Nair chaired the session. Dr. Arun Shankar, medical director, JDC, introduced the faculty. The session was attended by physicians across India.

February 17, 2022: The first user of MiniMed 780G artificial pancreas from Kerala
A live discussion between the first user of MiniMed 780G Artificial Pancreas from Jothydev’s Diabetes Research Centre (JDC) and Dr.Jothydev Kesavadev along with Dr Arun Shankar, Medical Director, JDC and Ms.Geethu Sanal, chief dietitian, was held virtually on 17 February 2022. The experience of the user was published in Manorama online on 19 February 2022.
February 11, 2022: National Interchangeable Symposium
The national interchangeable symposium virtual was held on February 11, 2022. Dr Jothydev Kesavadev was the invited speaker at the event. He spoke on ‘Biosimilar insulin: untangle the need, cost and access’. The session was followed by an active discussion. Dr Jothydev Kesavadev along with Dr. Anoop Misra, Dr. Vijay Negalur, Dr. Gayani Samarasinghe and Dr. Viraj Suvarna participated in the discussion. The discussion was moderated by Dr. J J Mukherjee.

A scientific event ‘Radiance 2022- Illuminating the shadows of uncontrolled diabetes with oral GLP-1’ was held virtually on February 5, 2022. Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev was an invited speaker of the event and he spoke on ’Illuminating the path of diabetes care with novel innovations.
February 5, 2022: Launch of Minimed 780G system.
The official launch of the Medtronic MiniMed 780G, an advanced hybrid closed-loop insulin system in India, was held on February 5, 2022. Dr.Jothydev Kesavadev was an invited panelist at the event along with Dr.S.K Wangnoo, Dr.V Mohan, Dr.Banshi Saboo and Dr.Uday Phadke and interacted with Dr.Robert Vigersky.
January 28, 2022: JPEF Mini CME
Jothydev’s Professional Education Forum (JPEF) and IMA AMS Nemom chapter in association with the P Kesavadev Trust hosted the JPEF Mini CME January 2022, “Launch of Oral Semaglutide” on 28 January 2022, 7:00 pm-9:00 pm. The program was set off by Dr. Arun Shankar, medical director, Jothydev’s Diabetes Research Centre (JDC) with a welcome speech. The scientific sessions began with a lecture on ’From lab to life: innovations in diabetes care’ by Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev, chairman and managing director, JDC. Other scientific sessions include ‘Appraising the cardio-metabolic approach in T2D management’ by Dr. Ajay Kumar, Patna, ‘Pioneering solutions to manage diabetes with oral semaglutide’ by Dr. Vimal M V, Kozhikode and ‘Clinical perspectives of patient care with oral semaglutide’ by Dr. Vipin V. P. Dr. K Hari was the chairperson of the event. The event hosted via Zoom witnessed the participation of around 200 delegates from all over India.
