Free Diabscreen Kerala Camp at Punalur: 17 October, 2014

Diabscreen Kerala free diabetes awareness, detection and treatment camp was organised by P. Kesavadev Trust and C.S.I Church, Punalur on 17 October 2014 at C.S.I Church Parish Hall, Punalur. The camp had a massive participation of more than 180 patients. Anthropometric measurements, lab investigations like blood glucose, cholesterol etc. were performed for all the participants. Diabetes awareness class led by Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev was well attended and questions on diabetes management were answered. Dr. Ashwin David also answered the patients' questions. Free consultation continued for 4 hours and free medicines were also provided. Diabetes team from JDC including Bindu, Kala, Soumya etc. also participated in the camp. Jayasree Lally and Prasad, JDC coordinated the camp. Ms. Sunitha Jothydev, Director, JDC supervised the camp activities. Mr. Thomas Jacob(Secretary), Rijo Joseph(Accountant) C.S.I Church coordinated the camp. Dr. Susan Ashok, Bhanu Clinic and Dr. Ashwin David, presided the function.

Free Diabscreen Kerala Camp at Varkala: September 28, 2014

Diabscreen Kerala free diabetes awareness, detection and treatment camp was organized by P.Kesavadev Trust and Varkala North Residence Association at Varkala on 28 Sep 2014. The camp had more than 80 participants and anthropometric measurements and lab tests were performed. Dr. Arun Shankar lectured on ways to prevent diabetes and effective management of diabetes with early insulin injections to prevent complications. Remya Iyer, dietitian lectured on the diet to be followed in diabetes. The multidisciplinary team including diabetes educators and research coordinators were also part of the treatment team. Free consultation and medicines were also provided. Mr.Santhosh organized the camp on behalf of Varkala North Residence Association.
