Dr.Shaukat Sadikot

      Dr.Shaukat Sadikot was the president of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) for 2016-2017. An epitome of inspiration in healing people with diabetes, Dr.Sadikot was actively involved with the cause of diabetes and associated metabolic disorders regionally, nationally and internationally for over 30 years. He served as a Consultant in Endocrinology at the Jaslok Hospital and Research Center, Mumbai and as President of Diabetes India for many years. As a renowned epidemiologist, his determination in conducting the first nationwide survey on the prevalence of diabetes in India is highly appreciable and inspiring to diabetes health care professionals around the globe. In his capacity as the Founding President of DiabetesIndia, he launched many projects for the enhancement of healthcare professional education in the field of diabetes. His research interests were in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolic Disorders.

     Dr Shaukat Sadikot was a close associate of Jothydev Diabetes and Researcher Centre’s team and its activities. He was a true well-wisher of our Centre and served as the patron of the Jothydev’s Professional Education Forum (JPEF) Annual Global Diabetes Conventions. His timely guidance to all the activities of JDC for the well being of humans will always remain in the hearts of the entire JDC team.
