There is a very high prevalence of cancer in diabetes, the exact reason of which is unknown. Genetic link between obesity and cancer is established. Hence it is justified for physicians treating diabetes and also subjects with diabetes to be aware of this link and request physical examination and screening tests but never to be scared since the disease might be completely curable at its early stages.
