World Diabetes Month JPEF CME Series
JPEF CME Series marking World Diabetes Month commenced on 11 November at Residency Tower. Dr.Arun Shankar, Centre Head, JDC Trivandrum and Dr.Kavitha Devin, Retina Clinic, Divya Prabha Eye Hospital chaired the sessions. The guest speaker was Dr.J.S Kumar why lectured on ‘New algorithm for the management of type 2 Diabetes in India’. Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev lectured on ‘New generation basal Insulin: Does the promise from clinical trials translate in to clinical practice’ and Dr. Ashwin David lectured on ‘Diabetes in pregnancy: Remembering WDD 2017 theme’.

World Diabetes Month Free Camp
World diabetes month free camp was conducted by P.Kesavadev Trust for the neighborhood as a token of gratitude. Dr.Jothydev Kesavadev, Dr.Arun Shankar, Dr. Ashwin David, Geethu Sanal etc. took awareness classes. Free snacks and lunch followed. Consultation and free medications were also given to the patients who attended the camp. Shri.Jayapalan A gave welcome and Ms.Sunitha Jothydev delivered vote of thanks. Hari Prasad coordinated the camp.

Trivandrum's artistic icon Matsyakanyaka, at Shankumugham Beach was lit in blue colour as part of the Diabetes public awareness campaign during this World Diabetes Day. This initiative was done jointly by P. Kesavadev Trust and Jothydev’s Diabetes Hospital & Research Centre. This year the World Diabetes Month theme is "Women & Diabetes". It strongly implies that your mother, sister, wife, daughter or grandmother with diabetes should never be neglected. As part of Diabetes Awareness Campaigns across the world during this World Diabetes Month, iconic monuments are lit up in blue representing the colour of diabetes. P. Kesavadev Trust & Jothydev's Hospital has selected "Matsyakanyaka" for monument lighting symbolising women's strength, commitment & love.

‘Diabetes’/ ‘Premeham’: a book by Dr.Jothydev Kesavadev and Mr.Santhosh Sisupal was be released by Ms. Mallika Sukumaran and Mr.M.G.Radhakrishnan at Press Club Trivandrum on 14 November 2017 in the presence of a selected audience. The book is first of its kind in Malayalam on evidence based science written in simple language, guiding the common man to happily live with diabetes.
