1. Remembering Christopher Saudek
On October 6, 2010, we lost the pioneer in the development of implantable insulin pumps, Dr.Christopher Saudek. He was 68 years as he lost his long battle with metastatic melanoma. 'Chris', as he was lovely called upon by his friends was a close associate of our director Dr.Jothydev Kesavadev.

It was in 1980, he started the comprehensive diabetes care programme at John Hopkins, Washington. Ever since, he had been known world over for his scientific lectures, research and for being a personal diabetes educator for his patients.

We had the golden opportunity having him in Trivandrum, India. Here in this website we publish a couple of pictures to commemorate and cherish our evergreen memories with Chris. His early demise is an irreparable loss to the field of diabetes research in general and JDC in particular; he being a very good friend and well –wisher for our institute. We pray to the Almighty God for the soul to rest in peace and his team within the institution and in other parts of the world to continue with his research.
