1. Nov 13- Diabetes Awareness Campaign via Facebook Live

      As part of World Diabetes Day, Jothydev’s Diabetes Research Center Team went live on Facebook to answer questions related to various aspects of diabetes. The expert panel consisted of doctors and multidisciplinary team including dieticians and nurses. The team headed by Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev, chief diabetologist and chairman, Dr.Arun Shankar, Medical Director and Ms. Geethu Sanal, Chief Dietician, Akhila Manu, Diabetes Nurse etc. went live for 2 hours on Facebook on 13 Nov 2019. The live was titled “All about diabetes”.

2. Nov 13 & 14: Blue Monument Lighting

      Poojappura is a place located in the south-east of the city of Trivandrum in India. It is known as "The heart of Trivandrum". The Poojappura park, located in Poojapura is a delightful place of mirth and divinity. It is also a place of historical importance. This Park was lit up in blue on Nov 14, 2019 as part of observing World Diabetes Day. The initiative was carried out jointly by P. Kesavadev Trust, Jothydev’s Diabetes Hospital and Indian Medical Association (IMA)-Nemom branch. A public awareness campaign on diabetes was also held. As part of conducting diabetes awareness campaigns across the world during World Diabetes Month, iconic monuments are lit up in blue, representing the colour of diabetes. The theme of this year’s World Diabetes Month is ‘Diabetes: Protect Your Family’ and hence, Poojappura park, the venue, which is a common hangout place for families, was chosen.

3. Nov 14- WDM Diabetes Camp with Lions Club

      Jothydev’s Diabetes Research Center organised Diabetes Camp in association with Lions Club at Trivandrum Press Club on Nov 14, 2019. It was held as part of creating awareness among public on diabetes. Blood tests were done at the Press club hall for the public. Dr.Sajna, Kavitha, Indu, Biju etc. were part of the team from Jothydev’s Diabetes Research Center. Prasad coordinated the event.

4. Nov 14- Walkathon

      Proper food habits and exercise can ward off diabetes in the majority. This was the theme of the walkathon organised by Kesavadev Trust and Jothydev’s Diabetes Center in Trivandrum on 14 Nov 2019. Headed by Dr.Arun Shankar, medical director and Ms. Gopika Krishnan, Academic Head, Jothydev’s Diabetes Research Center family along with patients and public participated in the walkathon.

5. Nov 14- Diabetes day tips via Mathrubhumi TV

      Diabetes is a life style disorder which can be prevented by proper food habits and exercise. On World Diabetes Day, Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev shared Diabetes Day Tips via Mathrubhumi TV on effective management of diabetes.

6. Nov 14- All India Radio Program

      Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev participated in the diabetes day chat in All India Radio. The theme was “Diabetes: Protect the Family”. The program went live on Nov 14, 2019.

7. Nov 14- Talk by Dr.Jothydev in Manorama Arogyam

      Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev spoke in Manorama Arogyam on ‘treatment of new onset of diabetes’ as part of World Diabetes day.

8. Nov 14- Diabetes Day Free Camp, Jothydev’s Diabetes Research Center

      As part of observing World Diabetes Day, free diabetes education and detection camp was held in Jothydev’s Diabetes Research Center for public. Blood tests and retinal screening were conducted. Team from Jothydev’s Diabetes Research Center participated. The camp was held on Nov 14, 2019.

9. Nov 16- Talk by Dr.Jothydev Kesavadev with Mathrubhumi News

      Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev spoke in Mathrubhumi TV “Ask the Doctor” program on “how to treat diabetes”. It was telecasted on Nov 16, 2019

10. Nov 17- Walk in for Free health check camps & expert talk

      “Check your lifestyle today” was the program jointly organised by Jothydev’s Diabetes Research Center and Times of India as part of World Diabetes Day on Nov 17, 2019. The program organised for the public featured three free medical check-up camps at Kanakakunnu, Kowdiar Square and Poojappura Mandapam. Team from Jothydev’s Diabetes Research Center conducted the camp and gave advices.

11. Nov 17- Launch of “Diabesties”

      “Check your lifestyle today” was the program jointly organised by Jothydev’s Diabetes Research Center and Times of India as part of World Diabetes Day on Nov 17, 2019. The program organised for the public featured three free medical check-up camps at Kanakakunnu, Kowdiar Square and Poojappura Mandapam. Team from Jothydev’s Diabetes Research Center conducted the camp and gave advices.

12. Nov 17- Blue ring with Blue umbrellas

      “Blue ring with blue umbrellas” was a scintillating initiative held at Jothydev’s Diabetes Research Center on Nov 17 for spreading diabetes awareness far and wide. Former Miss Kerala and actress Ms. In du Thampy also participated in this event.

13. Nov 22- Diabetes Public Education with Metro Manorama

      Jothydev’s Diabetes Research Center in association with Metro Manorama organised diabetes public education program that ignited lively discussions on prevention and managment of diabetes on Nov 22, 2019 at SP Grand Days. It included lectures conducted by Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev, Dr. Arun Shankar, Ms. Gopika Krishnan and Ms. Geethu Sanal on various relevant topics in diabetes. The lectures mainly included the novel therapies for diabetes and the importance of food and exercise to manage it. Public interactive session was live with a dozen questions from the participants. Ms. Akhila, nurse, Jothydev’s Diabetes Research Center also participated actively in the event.

14. Nov 24-World Diabetes Month Free Camp, Vellayani

      Jothydev’s Diabetes Research Center conducted free diabetes camp at Vellayani on Nov 24, 2019 as part of WDM under the leadership of Jayasree Lally. The program was thoroughly informative with lecture from Dr. Arun Shankar on various aspects of diabetes to create awareness among people. Blood tests, consultation etc. were also part of the camp.

15. Nov 27- CME for Doctors

      JPEF, Kesavadev Trust in association with IMA, AMS, Nemom, conducted JPEF WDD CME for doctors at Residency Tower on 27 Nov 2019. Presentations were offered by Dr. Siju Jose (Case discussion), Dr. Mathew John on “Marr ying convenience and efficacy for better outcomes in diabetes: Role of premix insulins”, Dr.Jothydev Kesavade v on “Changing diabetes care: from glycemia to cardiovascular disease” and “What’s new with flu shots in diabe tes”. The sessions were chaired by Dr.Sumesh Raj, Dr. Benny P.V, Dr. Mohanan Nair and Dr. Arun Shankar. Felicit atios were offered by Dr. K. Mahadevan. Around 100 physicians attended.
