Diabesity camp (diabetes and obesity) was organized by P.Kesavadev Trust on 2nd October 2011 at Jothydev’s Diabetes Research Center. Free HbA1c and anthropometric measurements were provided to the participants. Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev elaborated on the role of obesity as a potential risk factor for diabetes.In his Diabesity treatment speech, he also lectured on the associated complications like erectile dysfunction and the innovative technologies in the treatment of obesity. In the Diabesity diet lecture.JDC Chief Dietitian Ms. Geethu Sanal enumerated the importance of preventing obesity and the significance of diet, exercise and lifestyle modifications in maintaining a healthy body mass index. JDC Consultant Dr. Arun Shankar lectured on the association between obesity and obstructive sleep apnea and the novel treatment for sleep apnea. The session continued with demonstration of the device for treatment of sleep apnea (C pap) and the site and injection techniques of insulin by professionals. Free lunch to the participants was followed by consultation session headed by Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev and Dr. Arun Shankar.
