DREAMS Diabetes Academy Session on Sick Day Management

The fourteenth session of the DREAMS Diabetes Academy was held on December 4, 2025, via the DREAMS Academy web portal. Dr. Asha Ashik led a focused lecture on “Sick Day Management,” highlighting the importance of maintaining target glucose levels in Type 1 Diabetes during illness. She covered key aspects such as ketosis management, diet, medication adherence, and hydration, and stressed that illness-related glucose fluctuations can lead to serious complications, especially in children. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A.

Free Diabetes Awareness Camp Held at HLL, Peroorkada

Diabscreen Kerala, P. Kesavadev Trust, and Jothydev’s Diabetes Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram, in association with Hindustan Lifecare Limited (HLL), Peroorkada, conducted a free diabetes awareness camp.The program included complimentary diabetes screening and diagnostic tests, followed by an awareness session by Dr. Arun Shankar, Senior Consultant Diabetologist, and a talk on diet and nutrition by Ms. Geethu Sanal, Chief Dietitian.

The camp was inaugurated by Ms. Bindu S, Deputy Manager, HR, with support from Dr. Rajmohan, Medical Officer, HLL, and Mr. Thomas P Abraham, Deputy VP, HR. The initiative reinforced Jothydev’s ongoing commitment to preventive healthcare through early detection and community awareness.

Jothydev’s Partners with PURPLE RUN to Promote Women’s Wellness in Kochi

Diabscreen Kerala, P. Kesavadev Trust, and Jothydev’s Diabetes Hospital, Kochi served as the Wellness Partner for the PURPLE RUN, a major women’s wellness initiative organised by Impresario Events in association with Mom’s of Kochi, held on December 14 at Rajendra Maidan, Kochi.

As part of the event, the team conducted diabetes screening through a dedicated wellness kiosk, emphasizing early detection and preventive care. Jothydev’s Diabetes Hospital also sponsored the prize for the 21 km race, supporting women who promote fitness, endurance, and healthy living.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from women and families, reinforcing community engagement and the importance of healthy lifestyles.
