 Guardian Connect CGM System is a revolutionary CGM device approved by the US FDA
and is claimed to be the world’s first Smart CGM system for subjects on insulin injections.
With its smart technology the system can predict where the user’s glucose levels are headed, and can also alert them from 10 to 60 minutes before a high or low. The Guardian™ Connect CGMS works with 3 elements: a thin sensor, a small transmitter attached to the sensor and the Guardian Connect app on a compatible iOS device. It is thus the first smart standalone CGM system that does not require a receiver and directly sends continuous sensor glucose data from the sensor transmitter to a smartphone.
Like other CGMs, the Guardian™ Connect CGM reports glucose readings every 5 minutes. The system has customizable alerts that allow the users to get notified about future high and low glucose events up to 60 minutes in advance, and also allows the caregivers to track the user's glycaemic status remotely in real-time or via text alerts. It uses Guardian Sensor 3, the latest and most advanced sensor which is FDA approved to be used to control the artificial pancreas system, MiniMed™ 670G hybrid closed-loop insulin delivery system.
