Hi,
Researchers have developed a new risk score (T1DGRS2) which takes into account detailed genetic information known to increase the chances of type 1 diabetes. This could help identify infants at the highest risk of developing this condition in the future.
Melbourne researchers have observed a drop in the number of young children diagnosed with type 1 diabetes since the introduction of routine rotavirus vaccination of infants in Australia. A possible link is thus predicted between rotavirus vaccine and the decline in type 1 diabetes.
In the Gems video this month, Dr.Jothydev speaks about diagnosis and stages of type 1 diabetes. Gems Picture of the Month is the new Guardian Connect CGM System.
