Type 1 diabetes Kerala Workshop, Kochi IMA Hall

Kesavadev Trust Type 1 diabetes Sweet Stars and Kerala Type 1 diabetes Welfare Society jointly organised the one day workshop for the kids and parents of those affected with type 1 diabetes at IMA Hall, Kaloor, Kochi on 29 Dec 2018.

The one day workshop covered topics including management of type 1 diabetes, insulin injection techniques, exercise recommendations in type 1 diabetes, diet in diabetes and technologies to be incorporated in the management of type 1 diabetes. The team headed by Dr.Jothydev Kesavadev included Dr.Rohit Warrier, Ms.Neethu Annie Ajai, Dr.Lakshmy Ramachandran, Gopika Krishnan and Hari Prasad. Mr. Abdul Jaleel(Secretary, KT1WS) gave welcome and Mr.Vijeesh(President, KT1WS) presided. Mr.Sreekanth gave felicitations. More than 200 parents and children participated.

Diabmaldives International Youth Camp 2018, Maldives

Dr.Jothydev Kesavadev was a faculty at the Diabmaldives- Diabetes Youth Camp organized by Diabetes Society of Maldives. The 5 day camp was for youth aged 13- 25 with type 1 diabetes and was held from 4th to 8th December 2018 at Dhaalu Atoll Kudahuvadhoo, Maldives. The camp included both physical activities and educational sessions targeted towards empowering the patients to enhance their ability to self-manage diabetes. Dr.Jothydev was a facilitator at the camp and spoke on innovative technologies, devices and novel therapies in the management of type 1 diabetes.
