The event was truly an intellectual feast with over 300 lectures by renowned international and national faculties. Gems picture of the month has Dr. Anjana Ranjit Mohan receiving the prestigious P.Kesavadev JPEF Young Investigator Award 2018 for her original research in epidemiology and translational research. We have also included all the award-winning abstracts of JPEF 2018 in this issue. A study performed in the elderly reveals a new finding that even short inactivity periods can hasten diabetes onset in this population.
