Hi,
The cover picture in this issue of Gems is a symbolic representation of Apple tree bark from which phlorizin was isolated in 1835 and later used in the treatment of diabetes. Within the next 2 weeks, SGLT2 inhibitors will be launched in India(eg. Canagliflozin, Dapagliflozin) signalling the entry of molecules promoting the excretion of glucose through the urine.
The cartoon picturises the kidneys on either sides and the leaves, the droplets of urine.
Kidneys are no longer victims of diabetes but partners of diabetes care.
The Gems video this month provides a description of new diabetes technologies launched at ATTD, France this year.
You may also go through our original research papers presented at ATTD 2015.
The regular updates and series continues in this issue.
Thanking you once again for the comments and suggestions. If in case you are not interested in receiving this free monthly scientific newsletter, kindly reply with "delete gems" in the subject line to info@jothydev.net and also click the unsubscribe button at the bottom of this page.
